Operational mechanism of HEPA

HEPA filter is designed to retain contaminants and dust particles, pollen ... These seeds are sticky and retained in the fiber material through three mechanisms.
HEPA filters are designed to capture pollutants and dust particles, pollen, etc. These particles are attached and trapped to the material fibers through three mechanisms.

The first mechanism

Approaching, Particles in the gas stream come into contact with the material fiber within a fiber radius and adhere to it

Second mechanism

Collisions, When larger particles are unable to escape the mesh by having to pass through this mesh by curving currents, this effect increases in the inner mesh layers and higher flow velocities.

The third mechanism of HEPA Filter

Binding, a mechanism that enhances the adhesion of gas molecules by the smallest particles, especially particles smaller than 0.1micron, that is delayed & hindered when these particles penetrate the material layer. filter material. This mechanism is similar to Brownian motion and increases the probability that the particles are both trapped by the two above-mentioned mechanisms, which will prevail in low velocity currents.

Why do we often determine HEPA filter efficiency at 0.3micron particle size?

Because the bonding advantage belongs to particles less than 0.1 micron in size. Particles larger than 0.4micron have the advantage of contact & collision. In the middle range, the particles are close to 0.3 micron in size, both contact and binding mechanisms are not very effective. Because of this weakness, the determination of hepa filter efficiency is often determined at a particle size of 0.3micron.

Which HEPA filter module is most commonly used today?

The HEPATEC I filter model and the HEPATEC II filter model are the most commonly used in HVAC and cleanroom systems. At EBRACO dealer, HEPA filter products are manufactured according to EN 1822 standards for both of the above modules, and especially both of the above models use synthetic glass fiber materials imported from Europe, and are pre-tested. when delivered to the Customer for use.
